Help animals in need through volunteering

No matter how much time you have available, you can make a difference to the lives of animals in need. We simply would not be able to continue our vital work without the help of our volunteers who dedicate their spare time in so many different ways to help. Current Volunteer vacancies

Although we are unfortunately unable to manage a waiting list of people interested in volunteering, we regularly update the current vacancies page. Please keep checking, as there are always vacancies coming up!

Our volunteers need to be 18 years old or over and we aim to provide the necessary training, supervision and experience to ensure that they are competent and happy in their chosen areas.

  • This role requires a volunteer to collect goods donated from Supermarkets, local shops and supporter’s homes.

    Reporting to

    Location

    Moreno Valley, Cali

    Days or Hours required

    One full day a week, we would prefer a set day to enable us to schedule Pickups and Deliveries

    Description of duties

    To collect donated goods, from businesses and the general public, general driving to and from clinics.

    Liaising with the above persons in a professional manner over the phone or face to face. The volunteer may also be required to transport rescued animals between our Center’s and to support our fosterers when needed.

    How will you make a difference?

    A volunteer in this role will enable us to ensure we are able to collect the kind donations we are offered from our generous donors. You will enable our staff to spend more time working with the animals and you will create a good public relationships between EJ Rescue and our local communities.

    Skills and experience you will need

    You will need to have a clean driving licence and be a good time keeper with the ability to prioritise requests. A good knowledge of the area is beneficial.
    The successful volunteer will need to understand legislation relating to speed limits and weights (commercial vehicle).
    All relevant training for this role will be provided and the volunteer will receive regular reviews with John.

  • This role requires a volunteer to assist EJ Rescue with the caring of the dogs, any weekday or at the weekends.

    Moreno Valley, Cali

    Days or Hours required

    Any Weekdays, or Weekends – Saturdays or Sundays (or both days if available)

    Description of duties

    The volunteer will be required to follow the cleaning and feeding routines for the animals in our care, and to maintain their care and well being. Socialise with the dogs and to help them build their confidence in order to get them used to being handled.

    How will you make a difference?

    A volunteer in this role, you will work as an integral part of our care team. This will allow all our staff to spend more quality time re-homing, walking, and playing with the animals.

    Skills and experience you will need

    You will have a love of animals and want to improve their welfare.
    Some knowledge of dogs, chickens, and horses,  is desirable but not essential as basic training will be provided.

  • This role requires a volunteer to assist EJ Rescue with the walking and playtime of the dogs, any weekday or at the weekends.

    Description of duties

    Dog walkers are an important part of the EJ Rescue team. We have a wonderful team of dedicated canine carers, but with so many dogs to look after an extra pair of hands is often much appreciated!

    How will you make a difference?

    As a volunteer you will not only be making a difference to the welfare of the dogs but you will also be vital in helping them to be rehomed.

    Skills and experience you will need

    You will have a love of animals and want to improve their welfare.
    Knowledge of dogs,  is required, but extra training can be provided.
